TDC Updates – Winter 2020

If you haven’t heard – TDC has temporarily relocated our offices this month. If you’re looking for us, we are no longer located at Suite 500 at 190 Banker Road. Our new address is 672 Route 3 in Plattsburgh. We vacated our space on Banker Road to make room for a local business to expand their operations. If you need to see us in person, stop by our new address otherwise, please send correspondences to our PO BOX (The Development Corporation, PO Box 955, Morrisonville, NY 12962). We plan to move to a new space of our own at the end of the year.

Aside from the move, TDC’s team has been busy setting the groundwork for the organization’s goals in 2020 (read more here). TDC is committing to devoting resources to help tenant businesses grow and maintain their workforce. As a kick-off to this initiative, TDC hosted tenant leadership at an event earlier this month to learn more about the workforce challenges they are facing. This focus group provided valuable input on the next steps for this initiative. This year, TDC is also committing to expanding marketing efforts to better reach businesses looking to locate in our region as well as exploring opportunities for alternate power solutions in our parks to reduce the carbon footprint of our tenants. With unemployment rates decreasing and the demand for industrial space increasing, TDC is planning to make investments to help fill the gaps in available spaces. Stay tuned for updates on all of these programs throughout the course of the year.

The turn of the calendar has also brought about new leadership for TDC’s board. At our December 2019 board meeting we celebrated the legacy of outgoing chairperson, Brian Gladwin as he passed the gavel to Nate Wilson who began his term of board chairperson this January (learn more about Nate here). Brian has shifted his participation to fill the role of Treasurer for the board. With the change in leadership comes the change of  TDC’s Board of Directors Executive committee. TDC is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian Gladwin, Rick Grant, Vicki Marking, Michael Murray, Robert Parks, Allen Racine, Paige Bouyea Raville, and Jesse Ringer to the Executive committee. TDC is grateful for the Board of Directors’ commitment to the organization and looks forward to the next two years under Nate’s leadership.
