(Re)Introducing The TDC Staff

Meet The Development Corporation Staff

TDC’s Board of Directors has been working to cultivate a staff to best serve the mission of our organization. In 2019 we’ve welcomed a new President/CEO, Business Development Manager, and a Digital Marketing Specialist.

With so many new faces around TDC’s office, we thought it might be a good idea to (re)introduce you to our accomplished staff.

David F. Champagne III joined The Development Corporation (TDC) as President and CEO in April 2019
As President and CEO, David is responsible for the staff and operation of The Development Corporation. Foremost, David’s position is meant to generate jobs within TDC’s business parks and the surrounding region. To achieve this goal, David works with the staff and Board of Directors to engage community agencies, government officials, higher education institutions, and local and potential businesses. By bringing the right players to the table, The Development Corporation can help to build strategies, identify areas of opportunities for new growth, find space for expansion of current business, and increase the availability of a trained workforce. David oversees and manages fiscal affairs of the corporation, including development of an annual budget, and acts as the chief communicator to the local community and media. David resides on several regional boards working towards job creation in the North Country.

Previously, David worked for Pfizer where he retired after 34 years as the Managing Director, Strategy and Transitioning Sites. In his role, David had operational responsibility for transitioning sites, partnered with the Business Development Team in site divestitures, and worked with the Pfizer strategy team on network strategy for Pfizer Global Supply. He has extensive experience in organizational design, operational excellence, and colleague development programs. He worked closely with government agencies and representatives at all levels, both domestically and globally.

David holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from SUNY at Plattsburgh. He and his wife have raised three children.

David’s favorite part about the Adirondack Coast is the four-season outdoor recreational opportunities. He is an avid runner, cyclist, and skier. During his free time, you can find him outside enjoying the region.

Cheryl Dodd, Administrative Assistant
Cheryl’s friendly face is the first one you’ll see when visiting our offices. In her role, she helps to direct calls and visitors, maintains records from official business, and ensures that the office is properly decorated for the appropriate holiday. Cheryl is also a point of contact for TDC tenants, helping to organize and fulfill maintenance requests. She has been providing support to the staff and board of directors since 2016. Previously, Cheryl worked for Hospice of the North Country and West Bay Associates in Mental Health. In her role at each of the organizations, she provided critical support to office operations. When Cheryl is not in the office she can be found spoiling her grandchildren or hanging out with her two dogs Swisher and Zoey.

Cheryl’s favorite part about the Adirondack Coast is getting to experience all four seasons, especially the fall with all its glorious colors. Born and raised in Lake Placid NY, Cheryl enjoys visiting and partaking in events in the area all year long.

Christine Jabaut is Comptroller/Office Manager
Christine has been a part of TDC’s team for over ten years. Beginning her tenure as bookkeeper, she has since been promoted to her current role of Comptroller/Office Manager. Christine manages invoicing, payroll, employee benefits, and works with the CEO and Board of Directors to maintain TDC’s finances and oversees the annual audit. She also coordinates all IT and Human Resources needs for the organization.
