From the President’s Corner
As the end of the year draws near, I am reminded of the accomplishments that TDC has achieved and the challenges we have overcome. Thinking back to this time last year, the economy was prosperous, we were preparing to move offices, and were working to set the foundation for a large investment in the workforce of our community. No one could have predicted then the series of events that have unfolded these past 11 months. While our priorities shifted to include keeping our staff, board, and community healthy and safe, we were still able to accomplish a lot over the course of a year.
So far, we have weathered the storm that the pandemic has caused, and we are cautiously optimistic that we will continue to adapt and succeed through this difficult period. This year we have still been able to support our tenants, solicit future tenants, and hold board meetings all while working from a safe distance. I am proud of the work that our staff has done to adapt to the changing environment. There is no doubt that the next few months will continue to be challenging, but I am confident that our staff, board, and greater North Country Region will prevail.
The year saw many accomplishments for TDC as well as tenant businesses. Throughout the tribulations of the pandemic, we are happy to report that TDC has maintained a high occupancy rate, which is a result of retaining all of our tenants and being able to welcome new businesses to the park. This year we also helped a local business expand by selling one of our buildings, giving them more space to operate and grow their business. By the spring of 2021, we will have added two new buildings to our inventory. We are settling into our new administrative office building, and progress continues daily on our new 60,000 SF industrial building, available to lease in 20,000 SF increments. These state-of-the-art buildings will add valuable space to allow for future growth in Air Industrial Park. Internally, our staff has been working diligently on an extensive rebranding and a refresh of marketing efforts. We look forward to sharing the work we’ve done with you early in 2021 when we celebrate 60 years as an organization creating jobs in the North Country.
Finally, the staff and I want to thank all who contribute to our great organization. Whether you are a member of our board, tenant, community partner, or one of our many support contractors, our success is the sum of your efforts. We wish you and your families all the best this holiday season. We look forward to collaborating with you for a dynamic year in 2021.
