Bombardier’s Plattsburgh plant will create 100 new jobs as it ramps up production for orders from San Francisco, New York City, Montreal and Toronto.

It has already delivered 20 rail cars to the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District; those cars are now carrying passengers.

In all, the Plattsburgh plant will supply a total of 775 new rail cars for that transit system’s ‘Fleet of the Future’ at a cost of $1.5 billion. The remaining cars are scheduled to be delivered by fall 2021.
