Introducing Five One Eight Kitchen

Welcome to the Park!

The Development Corporation is excited to welcome a new business to the Banker Road Industrial Park, Five One Eight Kitchen. They are cooking up expert chef prepared, low-carb meals with quality ingredients, which are flash frozen for you to enjoy. Five One Eight Kitchen launched their eCommerce website earlier this fall.

Five One Eight Kitchen boasts a subscription-free business plan. The way it works is simple, choose the meals that best suit your taste buds and lifestyle and have them delivered frozen direct to your door. All meals are completely free of gluten, grains, and soy as well as free from additives or preservatives. Each dish comes with heating instructions and macro nutrition information to take out any guesswork.  The BPA free plastic tray and cardboard sleeve packaging are also recyclable. Meals will stay fresh in your freezer for up to six months.

TDC sat down with the team at Five One Eight Kitchen to learn more about their business:

TDC: Why did you decide to focus on a menu tailored to Keto and Low-Carb lifestyles?
518 Kitchen: We saw a huge gap in this market for prepared meals. There are very few options for easy, frozen meals that are (1.) truly Keto and (2.) taste good! We offer a lot of low-carb takes on classic comfort food meals, giving customers recognizable flavor profiles while staying within the Keto lifestyle.

TDC: What dish would you recommend someone who is new to the low-carb lifestyle?
518 Kitchen: Our Lamb “Shepherd’s Pie” or the Taco Bowl, both are a low-carb spin on classic dishes. Cauliflower is substituted for the potatoes in the shepard’s pie, and the Spanish rice in the taco bowl.

Five One Eight Kitchen Chicken Pot Pie

Five One Eight Kitchen’s Keto Chicken Pot Pie, a customer favorite!

TDC: What is your most popular dish?
518 Kitchen:  Our most popular dish by far is our Chicken Pot Pie, made with antibiotic-free chicken, green beans, kale, and celery.

TDC: You are distributing product nationwide across the United States, how does the food stay frozen for delivery?
518 Kitchen: We ship with dry ice and in insulated coolers from ClimaCell. The dry ice eventually evaporates making all of our packaging materials curbside recyclable.

TDC: Is there a pick up option for customers in the community?
518 Kitchen: Yes! We do have a local pick-up option. When ordering online, indicate local pickup at checkout. Your shipping expense will be waived using this option.

TDC: Are you looking to grow your staff at Five One Eight Kitchen?
518 Kitchen: Yes! We’re hiring for all general positions. Email us at info@518kitchen.com for more information.

Menu options range from breakfast to dessert with dishes inspired by flavors from across the globe. Designed for a low-carb diet, these dishes are perfect for anyone following a Keto diet.

And – If you’re looking for something for that hard to shop for person on your list this holiday season, Five One Eight Kitchen gift cards are available
